These shape excite me because it makes the best base for many of my works. I can glue on it, I can add layers of eyes, stampings and add chains for movement. It makes a great pin base. It takes a patina beautifully, revealing it's great depth. I love this piece in the silver plated section, it looks so real. They are slightly different than the other square, as they have a hole drilled on one corner and they are fuller in the pattern.
The size of the single piece is 50mm by 50mm, be aware, there's a tiny hole on the one of the corners, perfect for making a piece that has a dangle in it!
The finish is fine silver plating. I have these custom plated for me by a fabulous company that works with high tech manufacturers. He's more expensive but in the years I've worked with them they've always have a high quality finish.
I could also change the patina or the finish of the piece by using this technique as seen in this video.
